The natural solution to plastic

Step one

Plentyful utilises patented technology to repurpose organic waste, so it’s not waste at all. Using bacteria-powered alchemy we use it as feedstock to create PHA biopolymers. PHA is a naturally occurring polymer that has characteristics similar to petroleum-derived polymers, making it a highly-adaptable, non-toxic, and compostable replacement for oil-based plastics.

We don’t see waste as ‘waste’, instead, a valuable resource, that when treated correctly can be transformed into bio-based materials that can break down in harmony with our environment and ecosystems.

Step two

PHA is a naturally occurring biopolymer that has material characteristics similar to petroleum-derived polymers, making it a highly-adaptable, non-toxic, recyclable and compostable replacement for oil-based plastics.

Unlike many competing bioplastic technologies, we use a natural process to convert mixed feedstocks into consistent and fully tailorable product types. Our process does not rely on cultivated food crops, arable land or GMO bacteria to produce PHA.

Plentyful has the ability to take natural materials and use science to replicate existing oil-based plastics. We can create Plentyful PHA resin and offer bespoke Plentyful PHA blends for tailored solutions.

Step three

The world has too much waste, too much plastic, an unsustainable material resource extraction and materials ending up in places where they are not welcome, such as our oceans.

Our process takes mixed organic waste and turns it into non-toxic, degradable PHA. Using existing plastic machinery our PHA can be used to make a wide range of products normally produced with plastic.

Step four

These PHA-based products can be upcycled into virgin PHA, composted, or harmlessly degrade in the environment including soil and our ocean.

The PHAs we use are made in and by nature because of their nutritional value. They are part of the metabolism of all living organisms, so in compost, on land or in the sea they provide nutrition to the organisms present; which is different to any other bioplastics

Our waste-to-PHA technology is the solution to plastic pollution and food waste.
